Self Propelled Cotton Candy Machine...
Here's a picture of the cotton candy machine. Trkr's downing some seaweed flavored potato chips. Yum!
We continue on our trek around Namsan Park. We see the little old lady with the 'self propelled' cotton candy maker. She pumps a pedal with her foot which turns the motor. It uses friction to heat up the sugar and once it is hot enough, it spins the sugar. The drum seems to be made out of an old stainless steel (oil?) drum. It's always interesting to see how despite modern advances in technology some things just seem to work better the old fashioned way. There definitely is something nice and comfortable about the 'old' way of doing things. I was willing to pay the $3 for 3 small wands of pink cotton candy--just for the experience!
