Hanging Tree

We stumbled upon this historic tree on Coal Hill--the manmade hill to the North of the Forbidden City. This is where the last Chinese Emperor Chongzhen hanged himself after he was forced out of the Purple Forbidden City during the peasant uprising in 1644.
