Mis-adventures of a Letterboxer-Errant

Horsin' Around near Xi'an

Lantern at Terracotta Warrior Museum

trkr & rnrB playing around in a stone lantern outside one of the pits of the Terracotta Warrior Museum in Xi'an, Shaanxi Province, China. The museum grounds are gargantuan! The three pits are covered with enormous buildings. My first impression of Pit 1's building was that it could have been a giant airplane hangar--almost like a dirigible hangar. We visited the home of the Spruce Goose in McMinnville, OR last Thanksgiving and that hangar was enormous. The structure covering Pit 1 was almost 5 times bigger than the Spruce Goose's current home!!! Difficult to imagine unless you visit it yourself. Pits 2 & 3 are much smaller than Pit 1. Just as impressive, though!
