Muslim Quarter Market
Muslim Quarter Market in Xi'an
This is what I expected to see in China. This is one of the market streets in the Muslim quarter of Xi'an. The streets were lined with vendors selling all sorts of goods--incredible dried fruits, corn cakes, rice pancakes, wicker baskets, shoes, silk bags of all shapes and sizes, intricately designed paper-cut art, prayer caps, shawls, revolution uniform memorabilia, you name it. The restaurants were cooking all sorts of foods--kebabs, rice, flatbreads, you name it. The aromas made my mouth water. It was difficult to decide what to order for lunch.
Our guide Susanna is in the bottom left of the photo--holding hands with trkr and rnrB is keeping in step with them--taking in all the sights and sounds along the way.
