Pearls, pearls, pearls...
During our lesson on freshwater pearls, we're quizzed on how many pearls we think may be contained in one oyster. Hmmm....how many can you see?
Each one has at least 20 pearls--this one is a young one (perhaps 4 years old?) but on average the oysters have around 30 pearls. The colors vary from soft pastel pinks to purples, to yellows to blacks. Gorgeous array of colors! Each of us got to keep a pearl from this particular oyster.
