Fish heads, fish heads, roly poly fish heads...
Fish bone soup
This reminded me of a Dr Demento song... ;)
Eat them up, yum!
Then, the fishmonger brought out flounder fillets and other seafood that we recognized. We grilled the fish and ate them by using 'wild sesame' leaves in 'burrito tortilla' fashion. Using the sesame leaf as the tortilla wrap, I'd add a few pieces of fish, then add some sticky rice with bean paste, some mild red pepper paste with a hint of chipotle flavor, some grilled garlic, wasabi sauce and soy sauce. I spent the rest of the evening downing these 'fish burritos'--hoping nobody would ask me to eat any octopus. ;) We chased these burritos down with Chilsung cider and Coca Cola. Eventually, the Coca Cola transitioned to fish bone soup and finally, soju. Soju is that mild 'going down' pure grain alcohol that seems to hit you, like an I-beam to the forehead, the following morning regardless of how little you imbibe the night before. Again, you know where that is probably leading to. I'll leave the rest of the evening up to your imagination--just remember that 6yo rnrB & 3yo trkr were along for the ride. ;)
