Mis-adventures of a Letterboxer-Errant

Restaurant Menu

Here's part of the menu from our meal at a street stand restaurant in the Muslim Quarter of Xi'an. This is the first page--it starts with various types of fried rice. Each serving (a giant heaping) cost ¥4 (about $0.50). The second section is the 'Soups': Plump (mis-spelled--it should be plum juice) and it was $0.20 per cup, Tomato egg soup and Eight Treasures Porridge (we weren't all that adventurous) for about $0.30/$0.50 each. The kebabs were really inexpensive also--about $0.75 to feed the 5 of us! The entire meal was about $1.85 total--kebabs, fried rice and 3 cups of incredible plum juice. We were stuffed!
