It was so bizarre to actually see bullet holes from this incident. Up until now we'd only read about it in history books. In fact, many times on this trip I kept thinking I wasn't really there. It was so surreal! I kept having to pinch myself to remind me I was actually smack dab in the middle of China. What a tremendous opportunity! I'm very grateful for this opportunity to peek into another civilization. The history just oozing from every nook and cranny is overwhelming. I'm also very thankful to be an American. Now, more than ever!
