Dynasty Hotel in Xi'an

Our hotel room in Xi'an

Ever since our awful hotel experience in New Orleans, I have this 'odd' fascination with nice clean hotels. This one doesn't look all that incredible but the bed linens are clean, crisp & comfortable. The comforters appear to be silk comforters (inside) with cotton duvets/sheets on the outside. The beds are platform beds--similar to our experience in Korea. They're quite comfortable and sleep is actually refreshing! Remind me to look for these linens for my own bed back in the US!!! It's odd--I would have expected our New Orleans Grand Palace experience in China and not New Orleans. Thankfully, China has figured out the key to gracious hosts and clean hotel rooms. Wonder if they can export their ideas to the Grand Palace of New Orleans? Our hotel experiences in both Xi'an & Beijing turn out to be wonderful. I'm impressed!

By the way, rnrB lost a tooth here in Xi'an. Now, she's got an 'interesting' tooth story--first she loses one in Korea, now in China. Any bets on where she'll lose the next one? ;)
