Mis-adventures of a Letterboxer-Errant

Happy very early Birthday, Daddy!

We'll be leaving Korea shortly and wanted to actually celebrate a birthday with Daddy this century--so this was our very early birthday cake for him. Happy Birthday!!! No, the candles don't accurately reflect his age--multiply each by a factor of 3.5. ;)

For the cooking afficionadoes out there--it's the "Hershey's "Perfectly Chocolate" Chocolate Cake" recipe straight off the best container for letterboxing, ever! Cooked in a Rinnai gas oven at 175*Celsius (or Gas Mark 5 aka the "Betty Crocker temp") for the recommended time. Topped with the "Perfectly Chocolate" Chocolate Frosting--also directly off of the best container for letterboxing, ever. Interesting though, since I didn't have access to my trusty KitchenAid stand mixer, I had to do it all 'the old fashioned' way. Even the frosting. Without a whisk! :( Turned out alright, thankfully. It's been a while since I've used the 'stone age' method of baking--except, of course, when we're camping. ;)
