Xi'an's North Gate

North Gate Xi'an

Hanging out in the middle of the square between Xi'an's North Gate and the City Wall. Right after we walked through this square and headed up the steps to the top of the 12m high city wall, a formal procession of dancers, ramie linen dancers and Emperor's court attendants passed through this route. You can see the red carpet behind us--they rolled that out and the procession wound through the square.
